The Bushikori Christian Centre Mbale, Uganda, exists to fulfil the great commission of Jesus Christ in both word and deed by spreading the word of God and taking care of widows, orphans and other vulnerable children.

The Australian Support Committee considers it a privilege to partner with BCC through providing prayer support, organising orphan sponsorship in Australia and administering donated funds to help resource BCC.

Give the gift of education and sponsor a child!

We have just received a new batch of photos of children needing sponsoring. Their families are mostly peasant farmers who are barely able to provide food and shelter and so need help to support their child's education.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in taking up any of these precious children. Click HERE

Highlights for the start of 2018

Joshua Primary School

We had several teachers replaced and several come in. The new team seem very passionate about education and seemed so much involved in the weeks activities. The kids had a health parade on Thursday and then the Joshua school chapel happened for the very first time in the Geelong hall.

The children do light up our day as they are excited to be back to school. We are happy to have them.

The Health Centre

The high light for the clinic in this season is the maternity. We have very recently had a USAID programme that uses vouchers to help mothers from poor communities be able access antenatal. They chose to use Bushikori for this. So we are having a high flow of mothers- up to 20 deliveries a week and as a result have had to bring in 2 part time midwives to be able to serve in that area.

Child Care Department

There is a lot of children coming in to discuss about the new term. The Ordinary level results were released this week so guardians are coming in to discuss a way forward for the children and what next. This will be a busy time. We have received June, a Welsh volunteer with International labor Organization. She will be helping with teen age counselling and adolescent friendly services not only with CCD but the clinic as well. Later, she will talk to school staff in lower primary section about child development and how they can identify children who might have learning difficulty.

As you can see it is very busy at Bushikori. Thankyou for your ongoing support

Multi Purpose Hall Progress

The MultiPurpose Hall is complete!

It was commissioned on 26th Oct 2017 and named "The Geelong Hall"

It was a great day of celebration for the whole community.
